Israeli portable laser interceptor nears deployment
The Jerusalem Post reported that Omer-based Esh-Tech Systems has its Dronelight portable laser interceptor in trials in Israel and overseas. The company says the pulse-based system uses about 4 kW, can engage drones out to one kilometer, and can down a target in one to two seconds, or roughly 30 interceptions a minute. The program has received multiple Israel Innovation Authority grants and Mafat for Startups backing, and Esh-Tech expects a first operational system by September.
