Amazon Files Plan for Four Ashburn Data Centers

Amazon Data Services has filed an initial plan for Bridgefield Tech Center, a proposed four-building data center redevelopment at George Washington University's Virginia Science and Technology Campus in Ashburn, Virginia. The proposal follows Amazon's $427 million purchase of the campus and would proceed after GWU completes a transition that could last up to five years. The project faces opposition from the local county supervisor and uncertainty over whether older Route 28 zoning rules allow administrative approval or require additional review.
