The Story

Walmart and Wing launched drone delivery from Supercenters in Apopka and Clermont, extending service to more than 50,000 homes, businesses and apartments in Greater Orlando. Customers within roughly four to five miles can order small items for tethered delivery in 30 minutes or less, while three additional Central Florida sites are planned. The launch tests whether Walmart's nearby store network can support scalable delivery economics while addressing residents' concerns about noise, privacy, safety, weather disruptions and autonomous flights.
