VPNs Could Trigger Online Banking Fraud Alerts

VPNs may cause online banking systems to flag a login as suspicious when the service makes a customer appear to connect from an unfamiliar location. The reports say HTTPS already encrypts banking credentials and page content in normal web sessions, while VPNs do not address common threats such as phishing, scam messages, and compromised credentials. They recommend verified bank contact channels and account-security tools as more directly relevant safeguards.
