Renewables Supplied 52.1% of UK Electricity in 2025

UK government statistics indicate that renewable sources supplied 52.1% of electricity generation in 2025, producing a record 153 TWh and exceeding half of supply for a second consecutive year. Wind remained the largest renewable source, while offshore wind and solar also set output records. The increase reflected added wind and solar capacity alongside stronger wind conditions and unusually high sunshine, while gas remained the main fossil-fuel source and nuclear output declined.
