Russia fields jet-powered Geran-4 attack drone
Ukrainian military intelligence said Russia began using the jet-powered Geran-4 in attacks this month, signaling a response to more effective Ukrainian interceptor drones. The GUR says the drone can reach about 500 km/h, cruise at 5,000 meters, and carry a high-explosive warhead over roughly 450 kilometers. Business Insider also cited Ukrainian advisor Serhii "Flash" Beskrestnov saying Russia used Geran-3 and Geran-4 in the weekend bombardment of Kyiv that killed at least two people and injured dozens more.
Why it matters
A faster Russian strike drone complicates Ukraine's interceptor-drone defense and could increase the tempo and survivability of attacks.

Business Insider coverageHornet drones hammer Russian supply routes in south
Kyiv Post reported that Ukrainian Hornet fixed-wing one-way attack drones struck Russian logistics routes deep in occupied southern Ukraine, including the H20 Donetsk-Mariupol highway and the M-14 Rostov-Crimea corridor. Shraik News counted at least 30 burnt heavy trucks on the H20 and 15 on the M-14, while Kyiv Post geolocation analysis confirmed 28 attack sites. On May 22, occupation official Volodymyr Saldo imposed travel restrictions and banned nighttime civilian driving on parts of the corridor, reflecting the pressure on the route.
Why it matters
Ukraine is extending drone reach into a critical rear logistics artery feeding occupied Crimea and the southern front.

Kyiv Post coverageHezbollah explosive drones slow Israeli Lebanon operations
ynetglobal reported that IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir said Israel's political and military leadership has already approved continuation plans for the Lebanon campaign. Hezbollah is increasingly using organized explosive-drone attacks after surveillance and intelligence gathering, forcing Israeli contractors to shift most demolition work to night and slowing clearing between the border and the yellow line. The IDF also cleared the death of Sgt. Nehoray Leizer, 19, killed Sunday by an explosive drone strike, and i24 reported another soldier was seriously wounded in a separate incident.
Why it matters
Drone attacks are now shaping Israeli force posture and the pace of engineering operations in Lebanon.

OPEN QUESTION
Can Ukraine keep pace with faster jet drones?
Geran-4's speed and altitude profile may outmatch current low-cost interceptors unless Ukraine's next-generation defenses arrive quickly.
OPEN QUESTION
Will Hornet attacks force Russian corridor hardening?
Repeated strikes on the southern supply route may compel Moscow to divert air defenses, engineering assets, and logistics resources to the rear.
