Motorola Solutions to acquire D-Fend for $1.5 billion

DRONELIFE's Miriam McNabb and ctech's Sophie Shulman reported that Motorola Solutions announced a definitive agreement to acquire Israel-based D-Fend Solutions for $1.5 billion. The deal is expected to close in Q4 2026 pending regulatory approvals. German net-capture drone interceptor demonstrated near Hamburg

Euronews reported that German company Argus Interception and radar maker Echodyne demonstrated the A1-Falke, a ground-piloted interceptor drone that uses radar cueing and a net to capture rogue drones intact. The demo near Hamburg came as Munich airport suffered a drone sighting that diverted around 26 flights, and Germany recorded 37 drone sightings in the first three months of the year. Argus says the system is aimed at airports, critical infrastructure, and dense urban areas where shooting drones down is risky.

Why it matters

It highlights non-kinetic counter-drone tools advancing toward operational use in sensitive airspace.
