The Story

DoorDash has launched DoorDash Air, an internal drone-delivery program developed by DoorDash Labs after obtaining FAA Part 135 air carrier certification. The company is building its own aircraft, operating infrastructure, merchant handoff systems, and dispatch tools while continuing to work with Wing and Flytrex. Drones are intended to complement human Dashers and Dot sidewalk robots, particularly for some short- and mid-range orders, but deployment locations and timing have not been disclosed.
