Schools Deploy Pepper-Spraying Drones For Active-Shooter Response image

Mithril Defense is preparing Campus Guardian Angel drone deployments at at least nine schools in Florida, Georgia, and Colorado for the upcoming school year. Teachers can trigger stored drones during reported threats, while remote operators are intended to use live video, sirens, strobes, and pepper gel to disrupt a suspected shooter before police arrive. The pilots have state and private funding but have not been tested in an actual shooting, and they face questions about misidentification, safety, legal authority, and school climate.
